Ayurveda therapy is very beneficial as it is natural being herbal based but before using even Ayurvedic products certain individual and external factors need to be taken into account otherwise this can increase problems.
In the past few years, a lot has been advertised about the benefits obtained by using Ayurvedic products. Many health conscious people, on hearsay and without consulting a health practitioner/doctor start taking these products depending on their health condition. It is thought that being natural these Ayurvedic products will not have any side effects. There is also a thinking that if one does not benefit one will not be harmed either. Orange JuiceContrary to what many think orange juice is not for everyone since it aggravates the heat in body, Pitta, and Kapha, the fluid balance in the body resulting in excess mucus.
And when consumed cold, and we usually take juices quite cold, orange juice aggravates Vata dosha, the air & ether element causing rise in air related ailments. Orange juice should be always extracted fresh and should be diluted before drinking. Karela (Bitter Gourd) JuiceKarela juice reduces blood sugar and risk of developing diabetes.
Take it on empty stomach in the morning @20 ml dose. Avoid it during the pre winter season and winter season. It can increase Vata dosa and can cause gas and abdominal pains. Avoid it even when you have diarrhea/loose motions. Aloe vera JuiceAloe vera juice is cooling. It is beneficial for the hair and skin. It helps in boosting body immunity and also improves blood circulation. It reduces risk of heart and liver diseases.
It should be taken on empty stomach in the morning at a dose of 10-30 ml If you have phelgm then do not take it in the rainy season & winter otherwise you can face problems like itchy throat, cough even chest pain etc. Those who have cancer should not drink it as it helps in the production of new cells & increase of tissues. Wheatgrass JuiceWheatgrass juice increases red blood cells/hemoglobin and it is like nectar for cancer patients.
It should be taken on empty stomach in the morning @ 40 ml along with water. If you are a diabetic or have high blood sugar do not take it. Amla (Indian Gooseberry) JuiceIt helps in regulating weight and benefits the hair, eyes and skin. It boosts immunity and strengthens the digestive system. It reduces body heat, acidity and cholesterol.
It should be taken in the morning on empty stomach @ 20-40 ml. In summer anyone can take it. But, in monsoon season and winter, those with Kapha dosha/temperament should avoid it. Anar (Pomegranate) JuiceAnar juice cleans the colon and cleanses the blood. It is good for reducing Pitta dosha. But it should be naturally sweet and should be taken with an equal quantity of water in the morning, about 1/2 cup maximum per day.
Jamun (Indian Blackberry) JuiceIt is especially beneficial for those who have diabetes. It helps in regulating blood sugar. It also strengthens the digestive system.
It should be taken @ 20 ml with water in the morning on empty stomach. Because of its sharp, acrid/astringent and biting taste it can harm people in whom Vata dosha is predominant. If you get itchy throat or pain in throat stop it. How To Consume Juice?Juices should not be consumed cold, ought to be diluted with water, fruit juices should not be mixed with vegetable juices, should not be taken with or after meals, drink a single juice rather than a combination at a time and drink juices from fruits in season. The ayurvedic rule is to eat your liquid so that the saliva has a chance to mix well with the juice to digest it. Drink it slowly to allow the liver to not get bogged down by the concentrated form of food that we dump in and let it metabolize it fully.
